Duravit started in 1817 as an earthware manufacturing plant and in 1960 started a new world of sanitary wear and changed its name to Duravit. Today it employs more than 2800 staff in eight production locations and is made in more then 60 countries. They provide numerous ranges which include washbasins, toilets, bidets, showers, baths and bath furniture to name just a few.
To complete their range they also have renowned designers who have created products for the Duravit Bathrooms range. One of their designers Herbert Schutters designed a mirrorwall which combines a washbasin mirror, lighting and storage space and was inspired by the kind of mirror used in ballet studios. It has an intelligent lighting system which is controlled by a touch LED.
One of the most popular designer ranges is the Starck range which designed by Phillippe Starck which has been producing and realising ideas as long as he can remember. They have also introduced a New: e-mood which features a furniture range and has a multifunctional e-board which discreetly houses a soap dispenser (optional), tissue dispenser, cosmetics shelf and power outlet with no visible cables. The cabinet offers both functional lighting and atmosphere coloured lights with different programmable mood lighting and as an added convenience a night light automatically switches on when it gets dark. Everything you would ever need for a bathroom is available from Duravit.
